Imha multipurpose dam was built on Panbyon
stream, a branch of the Nakdong river. The dam
whose construction was initiated in Dec. 1984
and completed in June 1992 is a rockfill type
dam of which dimensions are 73 meters in height
and 515 meters in length.
The dam and reservoir has the flood control capacity
of 80 million ton among the total storage of 595
million ton. It supplies water in various purposes
that amounts to 497 million ton per annum. It
also contributes to the reduction of flood damages
and water quality improvement through low flow
augmentation
